Who are we?
Quotec Live is a cloud-based platform that provides tools to enable users to design, calculate and engineer sheds, garages, carports, barns, awnings and mezzanine floors and other types of structures designed in steel form.
When we talk about ‘Quotec’, ‘us’, ‘we’ or ‘ours’, we mean Quotec Systems Pty Ltd ABN 47 135 753 552, including our directors, employees and associates as applicable. We are the operator of the website www.quotec.com.au.
We have drafted this policy to set out how we manage the personal information we receive. As an overview, we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information for the purpose it was supplied for, to let you know about our products and services and/or to provide our services, and for our operations requirements. You may receive updates from us from time to time. We do not sell or give away access to the personal information you provide to us.
This policy applies to your use of our website www.design.quotec.com.au and related public access areas (eg. help desk, chat bot, social media platforms, blogs, noticeboards and areas where you can comment or leave information) and covers visitors, regular users and subscribed users of our site. By visiting or using our site or subscribing to our services, you consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as set out in this policy. If you do not consent to any of the terms of this policy, please do not provide any personal information to us or subscribe to our services.
Staying Anonymous
You can browse this website anonymously (although our cookies may identify your IP address). If you identify yourself to us, at that point we will collect your personal information.

At all times we try to only collect the information we need to keep you updated about our progress, market our services, for business operations or to provide our services.

For example, if you order an engineering certificate, you agree we may contact the engineer if we have a question about the certification.

We may provide links to other websites or use social networking services such as Twitter and Facebook to communicate with the public about our work. These sites have their own privacy policies. When you communicate with us using these services, we may collect your personal information. We may use it to help us to communicate with you and the public. The social networking service will also handle your personal information for its own purposes.

We do not actively collect sensitive information about you. Sensitive information includes information about your health, racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, sexual orientation or criminal history. We will take steps to appropriately protect any sensitive information we do receive.

Disclosure – How we use your information
The information that we collect about you is used for the purpose it was provided, keeping you up to date with our products, providing our services and for administration purposes within our business. We do not publish or sell your personal information.

- third party services of our business (for example if we need IT work completed);
- our affiliated businesses or related companies (and you agree they may also share information they hold about you with us);

- appropriate authorities if we are required to do so by law.
Security and overseas recipients
Your personal information is stored in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. When we no longer require your personal information for the reason you supplied it (or a longer period if we are required by law to keep it for longer), we will take reasonable steps to securely destroy it or de-identify it.
For electronic records and communications, we rely on third-party providers including Microsoft Azure to securely store the information you have provided to us. Those third-party providers may store their data outside of Australia. Where possible, we may ask that data be stored in Australia, but that it not always an option. By using our services, you consent to having your personal information sent overseas. We are not responsible for the storage or use of information collected by suppliers through our platform. We do use appropriate password protection for our systems.
Mandatory data reporting
If any of your personal information is lost or accessed or disclosed by us in an unauthorised manner, whether intentionally or unintentionally, we will comply with mandatory data breach notification requirements.
We are required to notify any affected person within 30 days if the loss or disclosure of data is likely to result in serious harm to that person.
Accessing and correcting your personal information
You may request a copy of the information we hold about you, which will only be provided electronically. You have the ability to make a request to amend or correct that information. If we do not agree with your requested change, we will keep a copy of your request with our information.
